Two-Day Celebration Features Sidewalk Sales, Promotions, and Activities Including Free Outdoor Movie Night and Free Country Music Festival
(September 3, 2008; Chestnut Hill, MA)—WS Development today announced that it has scheduled the official Wareham Crossing Grand Opening Celebration for September 13-14, 2008. While stores at Wareham Crossing began opening last fall, the two-day celebration will mark the official opening of the shopping center located at 2421 Cranberry Highway (Route 28) in Wareham, MA.
The grand opening celebration will consist of a variety of sales, promotions, and activities. Here are some of the highlights:
- Free Outdoor Movie Night—Sponsored by Target, the free outdoor movie takes place Saturday, September 13 at 7:15pm and features Dreamworks’ animated film “Over the Hedge.” The movie will be preceded by a tribute to the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
- Country Music Festival—Developed in association with the New England Country Music Association, the festival will take place Sunday, September 14 from 2-5pm. It will feature six local country music acts and be hosted by on-air personalities from CAT Country 98.1 WCTK.
- Pet Fashion Show—Pets dressed to impress will strut down PETCO´s catwalk, showing off the latest pet styles on Saturday, September 13 from 2:00-3:00pm.
- Appearance By Lucky—Lucky, the World Champion Boston Celtics´ mascot, will appear at Qdoba Mexican Grill on Saturday, September 13 at noon.
- Canoe Giveaway—L.L.Bean Outlet is giving away a 16-foot Old Town® Guide Canoe, ideal for fishing, nature watching, or family outings. L.L.Bean Outlet is also giving away $350 in gift certificate prizes, including one for $100.
- Wii Tournaments—GameStop is hosting multiple Wii tournaments, Mario Super Sluggers home run derby contest, and competitions featuring Nintendo’s Wii Fit. And, Mario from Super Mario Bros will be on hand for photos. Check the full schedule for times.
- Story Time and Performances—Borders is hosting activities for kids including story time, face painting, mask making, cookie and cupcake decorating, and an in-store parade. - Makeover Madness—Visit California Nails for free children’s fingernail painting, Michael Wayne’s Hair & Skin for special salon discounts and free before and after photos, and Hair Cuttery for free kids temporary hair coloring in wild colors.
- iTunes Giveaway—MacExpress is giving away one $25 iTunes Gift Card every hour from 2-4pm on both Saturday and Sunday, September 13-14.
- Children’s Make-A-Craft—Michaels will celebrate its 100th store opening with a sidewalk sale featuring tables where parents and children can work together on craft making for kids.
